Joining both events helped to ensure high attendance rates, media coverage and an opportunity to reach wide audience with the message concerning necessity to save energy and protect our environment. Beautiful weather was also a large supporter. People came to the fair with their whole families and spent there whole day learning about energy saving in the morning and listening to the concerts of local bands in the evening.
Organizers of Dzierżoniów Energy Days prepared numerous attractions for the participants including:
- a stand where representatives of Municipal Council and PNEC gave advice on energy saving. They answered such questions as: how to save energy in everyday life, what are the advantages of energy efficient behaviors, how much electricity do PV cells make or how to best insulate a house.
- numerous publications concerning energy saving and use of sustainable energy projects.
- requisites such as energy efficient lamps (that could be compared with traditional bulbs), energy meter, solar collector.
- eco-driving simulator, where anyone could check how ecologically he/she drives and learn how to do it in more energy efficient way.
- banner exhibition entitled “Good energy” which presents achievements and good practices of Polish signatories of the Covenant of Mayors
- collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment. For each peace a person was given a tree sapling.
