Two representatives of the Association of Municipalities Polish Network “Energie Cités” (PNEC) participated in the 2-day open training seminar for Supporting Structures of the Covenant of Mayors that took place in Huelva (Spain) on 18th and 19th of November 2010. The seminar was organised within the framework of the international project entitled ENERGY FOR MAYORS.
Seminar gathered approx. 80 representatives of existing and potential SSt of the Covenant of Mayors. The aim of the event was to develop SSt capacity based on the needs identified in the recently conducted survey and to optimize assistance provided by SSt to cities and towns.
During the seminar a number of presentations was given and an interactive workshop was organised. From the presentations participants could learn about the Covenant of Mayors initiative, its implementation, experiences and good practices of model Supporting Structures and financial opportunities for stakeholders engaged in the Covenant. During the interactive workshop they exchanged ideas on how to create and operate a Supporting Structure and shared their experiences in this area.
