The aim of the project is to reduce energy consumption in 16 Lesser Poland schools by implementing an innovative methodology ,,50/50" assuming the active involvement of building users in the energy management process and teaching their ecological behavior through specific actions.

The task is the second edition of the project entitled "Every WAT worth its weight in gold - that is, children and teenagers from Lesser Poland learn how to effectively save energy at school" co-financed in 2013 by WFOŚiGW in Krakow and constituting an integral part of the international EURONET 50/50 MAX project.

Main project activities:

  • preparing educational kits for project beneficiaries, i.e. methodological guides and measuring devices,
  • organization of training for representatives of schools and communes participating in the project,
  • project promotion,
  • commencing implementation of the 50/50 methodology in Lesser Poland schools.

Planned project results:

  • encouraging children and young people from Lesser Poland municipalities to implement energy saving and climate protection measures in their schools and joining the European network  ,,50/50",
  • promoting the methodology ,,50/50” among children and youth as well as the authorities and local communities of Małopolska municipalities, which allows achieving an average reduction of approx. 8% in annual energy consumption in schools, and a model of pro-ecological behavior contributing to the implementation of sustainable development strategies.

Funding: The project "Every WAT worth its weight in gold II - that is, children and teenagers from Lesser Poland learn how to effectively save energy at school" is co-financed by the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Krakow.

Project beneficiaries: 16 Lesser Poland schools from the Skawina and Siepraw Municipality
