On Monday, 19.06.2023, a meeting of the Local Advisory Board established within the framework of the international S3UNICA project took place, which this time was held in the online format. This was the third meeting with representatives of the City of Bielsko-Biala and local universities and high schools.

Together we discussed about the possibilities of cooperation between the city and the local educational environment, which is the main goal of the project. Representatives of the City Hall presented examples of thesis topics as well as projects and activities in which students of pro-environmental faculties could be involved, to support the city's efforts to achieve ambitious climate goals. Among the proposed topics were the development of a mini-SECAP, surveying the local community, concepts and investment projects for solar roofs on municipal public buildings, and sustainability projects with local participation. During the meeting, a short questionnaire was also conducted on current activities implemented by universities and secondary and vocational schools, as well as the possibility of implementing some of the above activities in the future. Students are involved in city events, i.e. the Beskid Festival of Good Energy, educational ecological picnics and workshops as volunteers. Therefore, it is good to continue such activities, so that the ecological awareness of Bielsko-Biala residents increases year after year, who in the future will take further actions for the energy transformation of the city.

Participants at the meeting also expressed their willingness to continue cooperation within the Local Advisory Board, which should be a permanent advisory body in the city. This group will help improve local energy policy instruments, by providing ongoing cooperation and support from the university, which can significantly influence the local energy and climate situation, both by engaging in joint energy projects and providing data on past, current and future investments and actions to reduce energy consumption.

In the meeting participated representatives of University of Bielsko-Biala, Combined Schools of Commerce and Technology, Bielsko Industrial School, Combined Schools of the Agricultural Training Center, Combined  Schools of Automotive and General Education, Bielsko-Biała Education Center and the Higher School of Administration.

We sincerely thank you for your active participation.
