Cities and towns on the path to energy transition – join us in Serock!

We warmly invite you to participate in the seminar „Cities and towns on the path to energy transition” on 28-29 November 2017 r. in Serock near Warsaw, in the Green Park Conference Centre. The seminar is addressed to representatives of local governments from all over Poland interested in the renewable energy development and improvement of energy efficiency in their area.

The main challenges faced by Polish cities and municipalities following the path of sustainable development, as well as possible solutions to many current problems and inspiring good practices will be presented. Participants will have the opportunity not only to listen to expert presentations, but also to consult and exchange experiences during an interactive session in small groups (World Café).

The first part of the seminar will be focused on the development of local renewable energy, including in the context of the current EU and Polish energy policy. The role of the municipality in this process will be discussed together with the tools available to invest effectively in RES and encourage the inhabitants to do the same. There will be presented examples of good practices in the field of establishing energy clusters and RES use at the local level, also in cooperation with residents and local stakeholders.

The next thematic block will address integrated solutions improving the energy efficiency of public buildings. Based on the experience of the TOGETHER project, co-financed by the INTERREG CENTRAL EUROPE program, the possibility of using different energy saving measures in one building (or cluster of buildings), including technical, financial, analytical, organizational and related to change of users behavior will be talked over.

Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the possibilities of obtaining funds and ways of financing investments in the field of low carbon economy. The various topics will be presented from different perspectives: of the municipality, the financing institution and the enterprises.
